My Greatest Obstacle

So I would have to say the greatest obstacle I will have to overcome is dinner time at my house. I know how funny this seems, but when you live in a family of five, there is no menu variety. There is one dinner meal for everyone. Growing up my Grams has always said "This is not a restaurant" meaning we can't all make something different. I understand that but this is the greatest challenge for any dieters in a household like mine.

Never mind the fact that we are coming off of Christmas weekend.

Oh boy. When we make food at my house we have snacks from 12-2.
Shrimp, olives, salame, cheese, crackers, little smokies, bacon wrapped scallops, and champagne. Then an hour and a half later we have prime rib, mashed potatoes, cauliflower au gratin, green bean bundles, and yorkies. And dessert: the best cheesecake you will ever have... Loads of carbs, fat, protein, and even more carbs. o.o I am sure I am not alone because there is a reason why they call it "New Years Resolutions"

Well tonight we had left overs. Sure it wasn't as much as yesterday and I ate clean all day, so it is not the end of the world. Thats the thing about this whole situation. I will have slip ups, hopefully I will build up my will power. After I eat clean constantly for 21 days, it will make me sick to eat like we tend to do over the holidays.

I think the key to my family obstacle is portion control, pacing myself, and to enjoy what is on my plate. Not focus on what is left in the serving bowls, and another good one will be to eat at the kitchen table. Not eat until satisfied but until I do that sigh. I think everyone knows that sigh. If not wait for it the next time you eat.

Wait for the sigh. 21 days, 9 am 12.27.11 :)
